First Biennial Update to the Mutual Evaluation of Italy

Following the adoption of their mutual evaluation report in October 2005, Italy was placed in the regular follow-up process.

During the follow-up process, Italy reported back to the FATF Plenary on the progress it had made in addressing the deficiencies identified in the report.  In February 2009, the FATF Plenary decided that Italy had made sufficient progress and that it should henceforth report back on a biennial basis on any action it has taken in the AML/CFT area.

This first biennial report was submitted to the FATF Plenary in February 2009 and provides information on the action undertaken to improve compliance with the FATF Recommendations.  The report is available on the FATF website or on the website of the Italian Department of Treasury (Dipartimento del Tesoro).
