Paris, 25 June 2026 – On 1 July, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) will bring together key partners and stakeholders to officially launch its 2026-2028 Roadmap on Combatting Fraud.

Fraud is one of the most pervasive and damaging financial crimes affecting individuals, businesses, and the integrity of financial systems worldwide, so tackling the fraud epidemic is one of the FATF’s key strategic priorities under the incoming UK 2026-2028 Presidency.  The virtual event, taking place on the first day of the UK Presidency, will bring together members of the FATF Global Network, FATF observers, and other stakeholders and partners to shape the FATF’s response to the global fraud epidemic.

Participants are welcomed to contribute to the development of the FATF fraud roadmap, with a view to building support, strengthening synergies and collaboration, encouraging contributions to this work going forward. Key public sector representatives will have the opportunity to raise national perspectives, emerging risks, and policy responses to fraud. The event also invites leading private sector stakeholders to share operational insights and discuss innovative solutions and cross-sector collaborations.

At the FATF’s April Ministerial Meeting, ministers issued a declaration agreeing to deploy the full AML/CFT/CPF toolkit to disrupt and combat the threat of fraud, and to deepen understanding of fraud in all its forms, including organised scam centres and the misuse of legal persons, virtual assets and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence.
