Overall, Botswana has made progress progress in resolving the technical compliance shortcomings identified in its MER and FURs.

The country has addressed the deficiencies in respect of the following Recommendations which have been re-rated as follows:

  • Recommendation 8 (initially rated NC) is re-rated to Partially Compliant
  • Recommendation 25 (initially rated PC) is re-rated to Largely Compliant
  • Recommendation 25 (initially rated PC) is re-rated to Largely Compliant

Botswana will remain in enhanced follow-up and will continue to inform the ESAAMLG of the progress made in improving the implementation of its AML/CFT measures
