FATF Training Institute Busan

Through a multipronged training programme, the FATF works to strengthen the effective implementation of the FATF Standards to combat money laundering, terrorism financing and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction across the FATF’s Global Network. Government officials can take part in in-person or virtual classroom training, organised in the FATF Training Institute in Busan, Republic of Korea, which welcomes students from around the world. The FATF Training Institute is fully funded by the Government of Korea and the Metropolitan City of Busan.

The training courses offered include the flagship FATF Standards Training Course. The FATF Standards Training Course is an intermediate level training which aims at enhancing participants' understanding of the FATF Standards on AML/CFT and the implementation of effective measures to combat ML/TF. It is designed for AML/CFT practitioners with prior exposure to the FATF Standards and is delivered through a series of e-learning, presentations, group discussions and small group activities. Since the launch of this training in 2021, over 1 500 government officials from around the world have strengthened their understanding of the requirements of the FATF Standards.
