Nicaragua's progress in strengthening measures to tackle money laundering and terrorist financing

This follow-up report analyses the progress made by Nicaragua in addressing the technical compliance deficiencies identified in its 2017 Mutual Evaluation Report.

Nicaragua has been making important progress and has been re-rated on the following nine recommendations:

• Recommendation 5 from Partially Compliant to Largely Compliant
• Recommendation 11 from Partially Compliant to Compliant
• Recommendation 20 from Partially Compliant to Largely Compliant
• Recommendation 21 from Partially Compliant to Largely Compliant
• Recommendation 22 from Non Compliant to Partially Compliant
• Recommendation 23 from Non Compliant to Partially Compliant
• Recommendation 24 from Non Compliant to Partially Compliant
• Recommendation 26 from Partially Compliant to Largely Compliant
• Recommendation 28 from Non Compliant to Partially Compliant

Nicaragua will continue in the enhanced follow-up process and will continue to report to GAFILAT on the progress made to strengthen its implementation of AML/CFT measures.
