The Netherlands' progress in strengthening measures to tackle money laundering and terrorist financing

Paris, 23 September 2025 - Since the 2022 assessment of the Netherlands' measures to tackle money laundering and terrorist financing, the country has taken a number of actions to strengthen its framework.

In line with the FATF Procedures for mutual evaluations, the country has reported back to the FATF on the action it has taken since then.

The Netherlands has made progress in addressing most of its technical compliance deficiencies identified in the MER.

As a result, the country has been re-rated on one recommendation.

  • Recommendation 15 is re-rated from Partially Compliant to Largely Compliant.

The Netherlands has 10 Recommendations rated Compliant and 29 rated Largely Compliant; 1 Recommendation remains Partially Compliant.

The country will remain in regular follow up and will report back to the FATF on progress achieved in improving the implementation of its AML/CFT measures in its 5th round mutual evaluation.
