FATF and FATF-Style Regional Bodies on the African continent

  • Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) The Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) is a is a FATF-Style Regional Body (FSRB). The main objectives of ESAAMLG are to adopt and implement the 40 Recommendations of the FATF; apply anti-money laundering measures to all serious crime and implement measures to combat the financing of terrorism. ESAAMLG's objective is also to implement any other measures contained in the multilateral agreements and initiatives relevant to prevention and control of laundering of proceeds of all serious crimes and the financing of terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

  • GABAC The Groupe d'action contre le Blanchiment d'Argent en Afrique Centrale (GABAC) is a FATF-Style Regional Body. GABAC is a specialized CEMAC institution responsible for promoting norms, instruments and standards to combat money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
